In 2014 I teamed up with fellow Personal Trainer and expert Pilates teacher, Helen Gardiner to create Fusion Fitness; a uniquie combination of high intensity calorie burning Circuit Training and Pilates.
As Group Exercise Instructors and Personal Trainers, Helen and I are often asked what type of exercise class clients should do if they have limited time. I am always advising clients (especially postnatal women) to try and fit in a Pilates class if they can as it is brilliant for strengthening the core. Equally, Helen recommends that her Pilates clients include cardio and weight resistance into their routines to burn calories.
Realising this, we decided to start an exercise class that combines it all; 45-minutes of high intensity Circuit training followed by 45-minutes of Pilates. Fusion Fitness is aimed at women only and suitable for postnatal women – although due to the high intensity nature of the circuits we recommend that mothers be at least 6-months postnatal. Both Helen and I are specialists in pre and postnatal exercise so rest assured you will be in safe hands.
All fitness levels are welcome so please don’t be put off if you haven’t exercised in a while. Classes are limited to a maximum of 10 participants to ensure everyone recieves expert attention and coaching.
At the start of the course we will analyse your body composition and run a series of fitness and flexibility tests. The word 'test' sounds scary but really it isnt. It just helps us benchmark your current fitness and flexibly levels so that at the end of the course you will be able to see the improvements you have made.
If your goal is to lose weight and tone up then you need to be doing some other forms of exercise at least 5 times a week. With this in mind, you will also recieve a series of short (no more than 20-minute) exercise programme that you can do in the comfort of your own home (or garden). You will also be invited to be part of our private Facebook page where we post weekly recipes, additional workouts and motivational tips.
Finally, we have also organised a number of 'extra curricular' activities for Fusion Fitness members, such as an evening 'bouldering' at a local climbing centre, a self defence workshop and some members have even completed in muddy obstacle races such as Forest Warrior and Adrenaline race.
This 6-week course, including weekly classes, fitness testing, nutrition plans and home workouts costs £120.
